Just to keep you in the loop ... the new moon's muse came calling and there's a lot going on in my studio!

I present the first pieces in the newly dubbed Mythic collection ...

dragon skin steel discs, cubes and nuggets, vintage Venetian glass, jumbo garnet rounds, black jade, glass trade beads on nylon cord

and leather seems to be playing a nice supporting role in the new work ... oh and there's freshwater pearls as well

Then came along this really yummy palette ... inspired by those shiny seed beads and a wonderful monotone - Champagne.

assorted bronze nuggets, cubes and cylinders, agate, agatized bamboo, faceted freshwater pearls, my cold glazed ceramic beads, vintage bone and on and on ...

again with the leather ... and I do love stacking things

opted for hand cut strips of this wonderful russet nubuck leather ... much more versatile

And then I had a special request for the Champagne Stack - same thing only different ...

An interesting thing when inspiration strikes ... I can't move fast enough.  I get obsessed, hyperventilate, lose sleep, turn off the phone, crank the ambient music (John Abercrombie/Ralph Towner Pandora station) and drink way too much tea.  Working out new designs takes a really long time and can be enormously frustrating ... like figuring out those leather details ... but I'm on a bit of a roll now and have calmed down.  Dave's very thankful for that as my crazed flitting about makes him jittery as well. 

Danger danger ... crazed flitting is contagious! 

And I've got colors selected for at least 3 or 4 more pieces ... just have to see how long my existing stash of metal components hold out.
