Okay, so I was in a bit of a hurry and wasn't paying close enough attention ... see, the digital readout on my kiln is in serious need of attention ... as you can see, several light segments are out and it makes setting the temperature something of a challenge.

I really have to pay attention and go slooowww when I'm setting the temp.

I was making a little special order yogo gem cube pendant like this ...

So, let's just say I was a bit distracted when I set the temperature and fired this little piece ...

This is what happens when fine silver clay is fired 200 degrees too hot.  While this is kind of cute in a sort of alien sculpture kind of way (I'm thinking the Minions would love it), I don't think it's what my client had in mind.  I've got another one in the kiln as we speak.  I've checked 3 times to make sure it's set at the right temperature.  Never to old to make mistakes!

Now to run a few errands and then back home to edit more pinch pot photos . . . there's a bunch and I want to get them listed in case anyone wants to do some holiday shopping!

Here's a preview of some of my faves . . .

Oh, and it's now officially my birthday week!  Woo Hoo . . . I'll be celebrating all week long.  Thinking I'll take myself down to Cross Creek on the actual day - the 17th, then a nice dinner with my beloved - thinking maybe a petite filet, salad, a hearty red wine and some decadent death by chocolate goodie for dessert . . . yummmmm!

stay tuned for more studio updates . . .
